Yesterday night I had a great time listening to a beautiful ghazal by Farida Khanam – Aaj Janay Ki Zidd Na Karo. I guess I must have heard it before but I had no clue about its singer, until my lady sent it. Tempted by this melodic & nostalgic provocation, I can’t resist mentioning Begum Akhtar. Woh Jo Hum Mein Tum Mein (lyrics) sounds everlasting as the ‘Queen of Ghazals’ herself.
vo jo ham me.n tum me.n qaraar thaa
