Miguel de Icaza, the founder of the Mono project talks about the path to porting the .NET framework (and its internal mechanics) to Unix. Miguel goes on to say “Today what’s happening is that ASP.Net (Microsoft’s system for building Web applications) is replacing, it’s basically pushing J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) aside.”
